News, Blog, and Stories

So you’ve answered the first set of questions and now you are seeking the last set! (If you’ve happened upon this post first, then backtrack to Austen Variations for part one of the Scavenger Hunt! Once you’ve got these down, email them to me at ldiamond531@yahoo.com, and if you have them all correct, I will enter you in the drawing. If you can tell me which book the quote comes from, I will count it as bonus if you miss one of the others ๐Ÿ™‚

So here we go on the second part!

6. “I do not know whether it ought to be so, but certainly silly things do cease to be silly if they are done by sensible people in an impudent way.”

7. “A large income is the best recipe for happiness I ever heard of.”

8.ย โ€œOne is never able to complete anything in the way of business, you know, till the carriage is at the door.โ€

9.ย โ€œWhat he told me was merely this: that he congratulated himself on having lately saved a friend from the inconveniences of a most imprudent marriage, but without mentioning names or any other particulars, and I only suspected it to be Bingley from believing him the kind of young man to get into a scrape of that sort, and from knowing them to have been together the whole of last summer.โ€

10.ย “The one claim I shall make for my own sex is that we love longest, when all hope is gone.”

Alrighty then! Email me those answers at ldiamond531@yahoo.com (I’m going to run to empty my email!) and tell me if I made it too hard below or at Austen Variations!

Sorry Leslie but.you didn’t take into account the fact that my memory (which was always of the ‘on the tip of my tongue ‘ type) is now practically non-existent! Added to the fact that apart from P&P I have only read the books once, many years ago and you can see my problem. However I am not too downhearted as I was lucky enough to get notecards and a bookmark off you in an earlier giveaway ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Good luck to whoever can answer these and I will just look forward to your next 50 shades post ๐Ÿ’–

    1. You’re so honest, Glynis! I figured most people would do a bit of web surfing on this one. I’ll give everyone a hint, though! Take a good look at the photos on each post. There’s a few extras, but the answers are there in front of you ๐Ÿ™‚

Some more tricky ones there, Leslie. One of the works I read for the very first time last year, so I was very happy to get that one, and one of the others was again (like one of those from the AV blog), a recent re-read for the first time in a good number of years. So, hand on heart, I’m thinking I may have got 10/10, and no Googling! Email to follow shortly.

That was a lot of fun, by the way.
